Clicking data collection

gemiusHeatMap study uses cookies technology that enables to identify users of particular website included in the study without breaching their privacy. Data is obtained owing to calculating scripts located in the code of websites included in the study.

When an Internet user clicks on any link on the website included in the study, gemiusHeatMap sends the information about the click to the Gemius server.

Data Processing

Information on clicks, which is collected by tracking scripts, is saved on Gemius central servers, from where it is then transferred to Gemius processing centre. There, the data is analyzed to provide you with real-time statistics. Data are systematically available to clients through Gemius’ proprietary gemiusHeatMap application. This application enables you to simultaneously display the studied web site and to analyze data on how users clicked across it.

Available Statistics

Statistics related to clicks are calculated separately for each Internet website (separate websites are differentiated on the basis of their URL addresses).

These statistics are available for several time-periods:

the previous hour
current or previous day
current or previous week
current or previous month.
